Nintendogs

Mommy found the cutest picture that depicts the independent nature of us shiba.

She also found the game Nintendogs for the Nintendo DS. The one with the labrador retriever on the front of the box has shiba in there. Apparently, she is having an extremely easy time training that shiba. She keeps telling me "why can't you be as obedient as the shiba in here?" She wishes that I would sit, roll over, spin, jump, lay down, and give my paw (I never give my paw to anyone, they can pick my paw up if they want to see it, but I won't help them) on command. All she does is say the command once, and the dog does it. HA! I like to make humans work for our tricks. Mommy keeps saying that the shiba in the game give the kids a false sense of the personality of us.

Oh, if I can't get to a computer before the holidays are over, happy holidays and New Year every one! I want to post again before New Year, but that all depends on who is hogging the computer and if I can use my shiba telekinetic powers to move the hooman and let me use the computer.

Canine Carnival Update

For those of you who went to the Ocean Beach Canine Carnival, you found out that it was super fun! I had a blast with those new exotic smells from Ocean Beach. (I've never been there before.) I also had so much fun sniffing doggy butts and getting to know other dogs (I didn't meet many humans, I was too busy getting to know new fuzzy friends.). Anyways, I had a ton of fun and can't wait for the next carnival or faire.

From the San Diego Shiba Inu Meetup Group, I enjoyed meeting Sakura, Marcus, and Sara! As Stitch would say from Lilo & Stitch: "Aloha, Cousins!" I would have stayed longer but mommy, daddy, and uncle had to go look for some computer and car parts.

Daddy and uncle had to find some stuff so they can play games on MY computer (I peed on it.. it's mine!). *hmph* (Well, I didn't pee on uncle's computer yet.. but it's in my house, so I claim it as mine!) Mommy had to find something for her *cough: my* navi unit. Mommy and daddy couldn't install it in MY car until they get 2 more parts for it. Daddy is still not done fixing MY (other) car. (I claim all the cars that I get driven around.. MINE! And I've already left tons of my fur on mommy's (MY) car. hehe.. I did it right after she brought me to the groomer's to get a bath and nail trimming. She was very surprised after I got up from laying/rolling around behind her seat on my way up to the back seat before I got seatbelted in. I think she said something along the lines of "I thought you just got groomed.") I can't wait for mommy's (MY) car to get the spiffy navi unit.. Then I can bookmark all the dog parks and dog suppy stores in the area (and maybe sneak in a couple of those locations inbetween her errands when I'm along.). Shh... don't tell mommy or daddy, I want to see their confused faces when they arrive at a dog park instead of one of their stores.

Look How Cool We Are!!

Hey, shiba owners... Look what mommy bought at Mitsuwa when she went vacationing (*whines* without me....).

This is a birthday card with a sleeping shiba puppy. It's a stand up card, so it folds out like a display and to get to the part that says 'Happy birthday,' you have to fold the dog back to release the flap of the card. The 'on your special day' flap folds down and... ta daa... the rest of the card is revealed! (Sorry.. no pictures of this..)

Mommy did a double take when she saw this one. She said he looks like me, but I don't think so.. And, I don't think I'd stay that calm if I was off-leash.. AT THE BEACH!! Woohoo! Time to go swimming!

For those of you who loOOooOOove stationery like my mommy does... guess what they have?! Shiba sticky tabs!!!! Look! On one of the tabs, there is even a little heart to show how much we're loved!!

If anyone out there knows Japanese, mommy said that there are lots of books and magazines about us at the bookstore in Mitsuwa. It was enough to take up most of the display shelf on dogs. There were a couple of books on labrador retrievers and German shepherds, but most of them were about us! Mommy was in awe when she saw how many books and magazines there were about us.

Miss

I miss mommy... I hope she comes back soon. While I'm waiting, I shall steal space on the bed until she comes back.hmm.. I think I'll play with the camera too. I think I need a 'dignified' picture:
I think this picture is worthy of being put on the wall behind my desk when I'm the C.E.O. of my own company! Now, I just need to think of ideas for a company.

Oh... I forgot... I got in trouble the other day. Daddy was trying to figure out why his computer wasn't working properly, so he took his computer apart to look at it. Guess what he found..? He found his third hard drive covered in pee and dust. I didn't do it! It was the cats, I tell you, the cats! ...Okay, I admit it. I peed on it. It was making noises at me! What else was I supposed to do? I barked at it already, and it was still making noises. (This happened at least a month and a half ago... before daddy rearranged his room and put his computer on top of the table.) It sounded like the thing I peed on in the living room. (Daddy says it was the DVR.) At least, daddy said, I'm consistent. Daddy isn't keeping hard drives any place I can pee on them now. Oh well.. I'm grounded right now. I'm not allowed on the bed for a while.

Actually, I don't think I'm grounded, I'm just not allowed on the bed because I smell funny right now. I was chasing the hose again for a few weeks, now I smell like wet dog. Daddy will give me a bath after he finishes studying for his test. I hope he passes with zipping shiba! (Then he can give me more attention, instead of some pile of white stuff with black squiggly stuff on it.) Oh and since daddy is busy with the black and white flimsy stuff, I've been bugging daddy's friend. I go into his room and I sniff around, then I stare at him to try to persuade him (with my canine hypnotizing brain waves) to give me extra food or walk.. actually, I like attention too.

Huhhh... I'm tired... I wish mommy would come home already, then I wouldn't have to make an extra trip to the garage door to see if mommy is there.

04 July 2008

Happy 4th of July!

I hope everyone has a great Independence day! Remember that if you have pets, bring them in before the fireworks and you might want to keep them inside the house until the next morning when all the fireworks are over. I don't want any of my fellow fuzzy, feathery, scaly, etc friends running away from home and getting lost.

In celebration of independence day, I got a new collar! The ball is old, but the collar is new. Unfortunately, the old collar did not make it into any photos, but I was wearing it out. The part that was looped around the place you put the clip into was wearing thin, so it was time for a new one. This one is a little bigger, but still has the pixel camouflage. Apparently the desert camouflage blends in with my coat? But truthfully, I don't think it matters, there is a black nylon backing to it and I don't think black blends in with my coat very well unless it was next to my eyes or nose. Oh well, a new collar is a new collar: time to break it in and wear it thin!
I think this is enough posting for now. I'm going to relax here in the house with my humans until they either decide to watch the fireworks somewhere or in their back yard. I, of course, will be hiding under the bed, planting a stink bomb for an unsuspecting soul to come by and take a huge sniff of air.

Smelly Contest

Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention. The farting contest between daddy and I is still going on. I'm in the lead though!

It's Peanut Butter Time!

Woohoo! Look what I got again! I got more peanut butter!!!! This time, I was not a clean eater like last time. I still had some peanut butter balls/wads stuck to my bottom lip that I had someone help me clean up. But anyways, here is another video of me eating yummy, delicious, scrumptious, delectable PEANUT BUTTER!

Hmm.. what else happened today so far. Oh, I learned how to crawl under people's legs when they're sitting down with their legs up like a triangle. /\ <=Like that. It's just like crawling under daddy's bed but without a bed over your head. (Hey cool! That rhymes!) Well, I can do it when daddy's arm is not calling for me to mouth it. Once daddy's arm is waved in front of me, I'm all for playing with daddy. Crawling around is fun, but being able to fit my mouth over something that's not a rawhide or tennis ball is funner! Hmm.. That's all that went on so far today. I think I'll go to my back yard territory and lounge around in the shade some more. Maybe I can catch a bird?

Oh, so in the back yard, I've been peeing on a weed and that's been growing very well. Daddy says I should pee on his plants and make his plants grow instead of the weed that I like very much. Hmm.. I've been thinking about what daddy said and I think I'll pee on his plants... nah! I like my plant. It grows faster. :)

Peanut Butter

Daddy decided to spoil me today. And I guess provide entertainment. He brought home a bunch of food but didn't let me around it at first. Then later on that night, he took a huge wad of brown stuff and stuck it to the top of my mouth. At first, I didn't know what was going on, but I did taste something gooood. So I kept licking and licking. Boy that took forever to finish, but it was some really delicious goop (that humans call peanut butter? They should call it peanut goop. Or how about mashed peanuts! Haha.. kind of like mashed potatoes, but peanuts instead. haha... Okay, I'll stop joking about human food.). Someone had a camera and recorded the whole thing.

If I get peanut butter all the time when they film me, I'll let them film me all they want. I get yummy stuff.

Mwahahaha... I got drenched today running around in the back yard. Someone was watering the plants out back and I was running around following the water trying to snap at it. I guess they found it entertaining because whenever I got close to the water, they'd move it to the other side of the back yard. How mean! So, what did I do? I chased after it, of course. I got so tired that at one point, I just stood there waiting for the water to come closer to me. But once I regained my energy back, I was back chasing after the water from the hose. Then a little while later, I was super tired. I went to my water bowl, drank some water, then just stared at it, trying to get the water to magically levitate to my mouth to go down my throat. I think I was staring at the water for a good 3 minutes before I took another loooooooooooooooooooong drink and watched the hose. After a few more minutes of chasing water, they turned off the water and made me rest. I was disappointed, but I went over to a dry patch and started rolling in the grass (but mostly dirt. That's what you get for turning off the water!). I came back in the house last night all smelly and dirty. Well, not too dirty, just enough for them to not give me a bath just yet because I heard that I might be going somewhere tomorrow. We'll see if everything works out the way it is supposed to, and if it does, I get to go on a trip! (Not to Petco or on a walk or to the {dun dun dun} vet or to the groomers.)

Wroo.. I think that's enough excitement for the day, I'm tired. I hope tomorrow will be just as fun! Or I hope I get magical powers to make me move stuff. Then the next time I tire myself out, I can levitate water to my mouth.

28 May 2008

Boo

Mommy went home tonight. :( Oh well, at least daddy is still home and didn't leave too. Daddy looked so tired when he got home today, after mommy left.

I think it's time for another father-son bonding time. Maybe we'll have a farting contest this time. I don't think daddy has a chance against me. He doesn't have to eat my kind of food.

27 May 2008

Smile?

Mommy and daddy are home! But no one looks happy. :( Oh well, I'll cheer everyone up! (hops around) Mommy's not leaving today, mommy's not leaving today! I gave mommy lots of kisses tonight.

Follow the leader

I'm following mommy and daddy around the house today to make sure they don't leave me for so long again. After mommy and daddy came home this morning, I'm eating more. Mommy got worried when she came home this morning. She asked daddy if he thought I looked skinnier. Daddy said that I looked fine, but he changed his mind today. He agreed with mommy and said I looked skinnier. That caused mommy to pull out treats from the magic Petsmart bag! She gave me one treat from each of the two bags she bought and then pointed to my food bowl. Ugh, why do I have to eat that flavorless stuff. It's so yucky, I like treats and human food more. :)

Uh oh, why is mommy and daddy going to the car with mommy's big bag and little bag? Usually when she has her big bag with her, she's going back to school.

I hear something

I heard the garage door open! I also heard daddy's car! DADDY IS HOME!!!!!!! He brought mommy with him too!!!! They look so tired. I'll be good.. for now. I wonder if mommy got me anything...

25 May 2008

Walk

Daddy's friend took me out on a walk today. Since he hasn't walked me before, I took every chance I got to sniff everything and to pee on everything! I also left him a nice present to clean up during the walk. It was hilarious, the look on his face, after I left the present. I shall do that every time he walks me! :D

24 May 2008

Drats!

So the present I left for daddy was cleaned by daddy's friend. Where is daddy? Daddy's friend is acting like daddy and it's getting weird.

Time to climb up the hill to be on a lookout for daddy.

23 May 2008

Daddy is lost

Daddy still isn't home yet, and I'm getting worried. I think daddy's friend knows I'm worried because I'm not eating as much. Daddy, come home soooooooonnn!!
Oh, and I left a nice yellow present for daddy when he comes home. :)

20 May 2008

Where's Daddy? (pt. 2)

I stopped waiting in front of daddy's door. Daddy's friend went to the bathroom, I guess to brush his teeth, well, I took the chance to check out daddy's friend's room. I found a pile of clothes on the floor. It's quite comfy. I think I'll sleep here tonight. Daddy's friend doesn't seem to mind too. These clothes smell funny, maybe that's why he doesn't mind.

Come home soon, daddy (bring mommy home too)! I'll be waiting for you in your friend's room.

Where's Daddy?

I saw daddy in the morning. He let me out of the house. Then he came home in the afternoon, made sure I had enough food and water and he left again, but this time with my favorite sea bag, a computer bag, some computers, and a giant flat bag that mommy described as a formal wardrobe bag. Daddy's friend is home, but where is he? And why is my bed in the kitchen? I'm going to sit and wait in front of daddy's room for daddy to come home.

13 May 2008

Surprise visit from Mommy!

Mommy came home today. It's a surprise visit! Daddy didn't tell me that she was coming home. I wish he told me so I could look my best for mommy. I didn't have time to shower and groom myself yet. So, guess what mommy brought for me this time? A new water bowl!! It's blue! I knew that was mine, right after mommy gave it to me, daddy tried to take it away from me. I wouldn't let him, I bit the side of the bowl and put my paw in the bowl and wouldn't let go. I let go of the bowl after a while so daddy could look at it, but a few seconds later I took it back. I got a new water bowl!! Horrah! About my old water bowl, I guess mommy is still looking for the receipt for the bowl. It is sitting on the corner of the kitchen counter waiting to be brought back to Petco.

Daddy brought out a fan today. I didn't really like the fan at the beginning. It tickled my ears and made me sneeze. I rolled my treat ball right next to the fan, and I had such a hard time getting it back. Mommy had to come and roll the ball away from the fan for me. I'm slowly getting better at it though. I can stand about a foot away from the fan and be okay with it.

Speaking of sneezing, I'm almost done blowing my winter coat. I still have my winter coat on my head. I try to get some of the old coat off by laying the side of my head on the carpet and walking forward with my head on the carpet. It helps, but I sneeze right afterwards. Mommy has been using the Furminator to comb me and it's helping. I still think the Kong brush is better for my tummy area, it's like getting a massage! I sound like a girl, getting excited about getting massaged. In my defense, my muscles were sore from chasing the ball all day and protecting my yard from crows and black birds. (Daddy just resowed the lawn.) I needed a massage to work out the knots!

Last week on Sunday, daddy brought me to the vet. It wasn't too bad. I'm all up to date on my shots and I got my dewclaw trimmed. I also got a lot of attention from the ladies that work there. ;) They love my "cute" ears and tail. Apparently, I look like a puppy too. Baby looks always work! Score one for the shiba inu!

Uh oh, looks like it's time to sleep. Maybe I can sneak in a fart or two while they're sleeping again. And if I do, hopefully mommy will blame it on daddy again. 0:)

06 May 2008

Mommy is gone

I'm sad. Mommy had to fly back to school. I miss her, she played with me all weekend, and I got a lot of belly rubs, walks, and treats. Mommy let me sniff a lot of flowers and pee on a lot of plants the first time she walked me, but then again, she didn't know the area that well yet. Mommy found a way to make me dance. That's what she calls it, I just call it shaking my butt because it tickles. She scratches me right under where my tail curls over and I hop back and forth between my two hind legs because it tickles. Mommy also found out that my outside water bowl is bad and took it away. The stainless steel water bowl from Petco wasn't supposed to rust, but it started rusting. Now daddy has to bring my water bowl in and out of the house. I like making him do extra work, it makes me feel like he loves me more. :P

Shh! Don't tell mommy or daddy, while they were napping on Sunday afternoon, I crept under the bed and farted. I guess mommy was already partially awake, but she definitely woke up, and she woke up daddy too. Guess what? She blamed it on daddy. hehe.. I got away with it!

Back to mommy. I hope she comes home soon, she always brings something back for me. I can't wait!

03 May 2008

Mommy's home!

Mommy came home this weekend! I'm so happy! I haven't seen her since the beginning of April!
What was it that mommy goes to? Scool.. or how ever you spell that. Hold on, let me ask daddy.. School! Why is there an extra letter there? Doesn't make sense. I don't like school, it takes mommy away for a long time. I like the treats that she sends though. I got a bunch of biscuits and a red Kong the last time a package came. Oh and a sample of grandpa's homemade beef jerky! YUM! I wish more came. Well, back to school. I wonder if I can bury school and make it go away so it never takes mommy again. Maybe daddy will let me go with him to work with mommy and I can find this school and show him who's boss!

Okay, time to spend more time with mommy before school takes her again.
